Scammers are everywhere! Unfortunately, there are people from all around the world who would love nothing more than to steal your money. There is nothing more frustrating than to be taken advantage of by an unscrupulous individual, so here are some tips to protect yourself from fraud:Do not provide your personal information over the phone to anyone who calls you claiming to be from the utility company, IRS, or any other agency.Do not send cash, gift cards, money orders, cashier’s checks, or anything of value to a random person who calls you no matter what they say.Do not give anyone access to your bank accounts.When wiring funds for a large purchase, call the sender of the wire instructions to confirm the routing and account numbers before sending the wire.We highly recommend reading Scam Me If You Can by Frank Abagnale for additional tips and tricks to protect yourself.
